Our family has been touched twice with PD. It is a crippling disease physically and mentally. Support is very lacking and not readily accessible. The long wait for home care packages means sufferers end up in care before necessary. It is a disease which requires constant management and medication adjustments. It is never a one stop fix. Some care homes will not take PD patients due to their high needs especially if the mental health aspect is a factor.
