We already know the terrible damage plastics pollution does to marine life but we are only beginning to to understand the catastrophic impact of micro and nano plastics are having on ecosystems. Unfortunatel the global treaty negotiations have been sabotaged by the petrostates. It is now up to Australia to go it alone starting with a ban on single use plastics and incentives for businesses to use stanardised re-usable or fully recyclable containers. Imagine if all shoppers could compare the price and quality of similar products from different manufacturers in standardised identicle refillable, reusable or 100% recyclable: 750ml glass bottles; 500ml glass jars; 375ml aluminium cans; or 440ml steel cans. Get rid of wasteful and polluting single use packaging with designs, volumes and weights designed to bamboozle shoppers.
